The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) said Tuesday that severe food shortages are forcing hundreds of thousands of Gazans to survive on just one meal every two to three days, as 'Israel’s' blockade continues to choke aid access.

“Over 66,000 children in Gaza are facing acute malnutrition,” UNRWA spokesperson Adnan Abu Hasna told Al-Ghad TV.

Since March 2, 'Israel' has completely shut Gaza’s border crossings to food, medical supplies, and humanitarian relief, worsening conditions across the territory.

Human rights organizations and international bodies warn that the enclave is nearing total collapse.

According to the government media office in Gaza, at least 57 people have died from hunger since October.

Roughly 2.4 million people in Gaza are now entirely dependent on humanitarian aid, according to the World Bank.

Abu Hasna also said UNRWA would not cooperate with a newly proposed Israeli aid distribution system, saying it “fails to meet UN standards.”
