Jerusalem mountain fire "possibly largest in country's history”

Massive fires continue to rage in the Jerusalem mountains amid confusion within the Israeli Occupation regarding the cause of the blaze.

"Israel's" Channel 12 reported that the Shin Bet is taking part in the ongoing investigation, as security suspicions grow that the fires may be the result of a “terrorist act.”

The "Israeli" newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth quoted a security source suggesting that the fires may have been deliberately set. Meanwhile, the head of the Home Front Command for Jerusalem and the central region admitted that security agencies still do not know how the fires started or where they originated.

Shmulik Friedman, "Israel's" Fire and Rescue Service’s Jerusalem District commander, described the current fire as “possibly the largest in the country’s history.” He confirmed that the flames had shifted direction over the past hour and are now moving eastward, with their intensity expected to increase due to strong winds reaching speeds of up to 100km per hour.

As the fires continue to spread, the Israeli Occupation authorities have issued evacuation orders for more towns in the Jerusalem mountains, fearing the flames could reach residential areas.
