Syria has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to Qatar and Saudi Arabia for their generous support in covering the outstanding financial dues owed by Syria to the World Bank, amounting to USD 15 million.

In an official statement released on Sunday, the Syrian government praised the fraternal initiative, emphasizing that the settlement of these dues was a significant gesture of solidarity during challenging times for the country. The payment is seen as a crucial step in supporting Syria’s economic stability and facilitating its path to recovery and reconstruction.

“The step taken by Qatar and Saudi Arabia reflects a shared commitment to easing the economic burden on the Syrian people,” the statement read. "This action will not only help Syria manage its international financial obligations but also pave the way for strengthened cooperation with international institutions."

Looking ahead, Syria is hopeful that this partnership with Qatar and Saudi Arabia will deepen, leading to more effective collaborations that serve the interests of all Arab nations and contribute to regional stability. The Syrian government expressed a strong desire to build on this momentum to further strengthen relations with both countries and explore future opportunities for cooperation.
