Jordan Judicial police begin searching “Muslim Brotherhood” properties nationwide

The judicial police on Wednesday began searching several premises used by the dissolved Muslim Brotherhood group in various governorates across the Kingdom, as part of an ongoing investigation, according to legal procedures and under orders from the Public Prosecution – per the Jordan News Agency (Petra).

Earlier today, Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya on Wednesday announced the immediate enforcement of legal measures against the already-dissolved Muslim Brotherhood, labeling it an illegal association and banning all of its activities across the country.

In a press briefing, Faraya stated that any activity conducted under the name of the “dissolved group” is in violation of the law and will be met with legal accountability.

He also confirmed the acceleration of the work of a dissolution committee tasked with seizing all movable and immovable assets of the group in accordance with judicial rulings.

Faraya emphasized that affiliation with the group, or promoting its ideas in any form, is strictly prohibited and subject to legal consequences.

He further announced the closure of all offices and premises used by the dissolved Muslim Brotherhood across Jordan—even if shared with other entities—stressing that any such use would be a violation of the law.

The minister warned political groups, media outlets, civil society organizations, social media users, and other entities against engaging with or publishing content related to the dissolved group or any of its fronts or affiliated bodies, under penalty of law.

Faraya affirmed that legal action would be taken against any individual or entity found to be involved in criminal activities linked to the group, based on the findings of ongoing court investigations.

He revealed that on the same night the group's cell operations were announced last week, members attempted to smuggle and destroy documents from their offices in an effort to conceal their activities and suspicious affiliations.

Faraya also disclosed that following last week’s revelations concerning national security threats, authorities uncovered an explosives manufacturing and testing operation.

The activity was allegedly carried out by the son of one of the group’s senior leaders along with others, with intentions to target security agencies and sensitive sites within Jordan.

“These decisions reflect the state’s firm commitment to protecting society from activities that undermine security, distort legitimate political engagement, and disrupt public order,” Faraya said.
