Jordanian army raises flag on Kingdom’s highest peak to mark Flag Day
Members of the Jordanian Armed Forces raised the national flag atop Jordan’s highest mountain, Jabal Umm ad-Dami, on Tuesday as part of the Kingdom’s celebrations marking Flag Day, observed annually on April 16.
The symbolic gesture was carried out to honor the occasion and reflect the values of loyalty and dedication to the homeland and its Hashemite leadership. It also aligns with the military’s ongoing efforts to promote the Jordanian flag as a symbol of pride, dignity, and national sovereignty.
Jabal Umm ad-Dami, located in southern Jordan within the Wadi Rum mountain range, stands at an elevation of 1,900 meters above sea level, making it the highest point in the country.
In a statement, the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army reaffirmed that the national flag will continue to fly high, carried by the determination of Jordan’s soldiers—men and women—and by the commitment of all loyal citizens to the nation and its Hashemite leadership.
