Hebrew media: Ben Gurion airport closed amid rocket fire from Yemen
Hebrew media outlets reported on Sunday evening that explosions were heard in the Greater Tel Aviv area and Jerusalem, coinciding with the activation of air raid sirens in several areas across the occupied Palestinian territories.
The explosions were linked to rockets fired from Yemen.
The 'Israeli' military confirmed that two rockets were launched from Yemen and said an interception attempt had been made. The results of the interception are still under investigation.
In response, 'Israeli' police announced that extensive searches were underway in areas suspected of being hit by the falling rockets. Authorities urged residents to stay in protected areas and follow security instructions.
In a significant development, 'Israeli' Channel 12 reported that Ben Gurion International Airport had been closed to all takeoffs and landings due to the activation of air raid sirens and the sudden escalation of tensions.
Palestinian sources reported that fragments of intercepting missiles fell south of the city of Hebron in the West Bank.
