"Israeli" Supreme Court rejects petition to restore Gaza electricity

The "Israeli" Supreme Court dismissed a petition from the families of several captives calling for the restoration of electricity to the Gaza Strip. The petition followed a government decision last month to cut off power to the enclave.

"Israeli" jurist Alex Stein, who issued the ruling, asserted that the matter falls strictly under the authority of the political leadership and is not subject to judicial review. He emphasized that the Israeli Occupation is "not obligated to supply electricity to Gaza."

Jurist Noam Sohlberg added that even entertaining the petition might falsely imply the issue is open to legal debate—an idea the court firmly rejected.

"Israeli" Energy Minister Eli Cohen welcomed the decision, calling the electricity cutoff "a morally and strategically sound move." He claimed that “sustained pressure on Hamas is the only path to securing the hostages’ release and ensuring Hamas is eliminated from Gaza after the war.”
