Hamas’ armed wing, Al-Qassam Brigades, said Sunday night they launched a rocket barrage on the settlement of Ashdod near the Gaza envelope, in response to what it said was “Israeli” massacres against civilians.

Rocket alarm sirens were activated in Ashkelon and Ashdod, and several surrounding communities, according to official statements.

An “Israeli” military spokesperson confirmed that a total of 10 rockets were detected being launched from the Gaza Strip, with some successfully intercepted.

“Israeli” Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich claimed that the rocket fire from Gaza serves as a stark reminder of the need to ensure the complete eradication of Hamas.

The “Israeli” emergency services reported several injuries among settlers as they rushed to shelters in areas where sirens were sounding in southern occupied Palestine.

The Ashkelon municipality confirmed that one person sustained minor injuries from a rocket strike in the city, with the attacks also causing material damage.

Hebrew Channel 13 reported that the rocket fire on Ashkelon resulted in three people being injured, who were subsequently hospitalized.

Channel 12 claimed that the rockets were launched from the Deir al-Balah area, which the “Israeli” army reported as having no military activity at the time.
