“Israeli” airstrikes kill dozens in Gazans amid worsening humanitarian crisis
Ten Palestinians, most of them children, were killed and several others injured on Sunday in an “Israeli” airstrike targeting Al-Nakheel Street in Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City, according to Palestinian sources.
Three more people were killed in an artillery strike on the Abu Al-Ajeen area in Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, five others — including children and women — were killed in an airstrike that hit a home near Yaffa Hospital, with multiple injuries reported.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health warned that the humanitarian and healthcare situation in Gaza has reached a catastrophic level. It said 59 percent of essential medicines and 37 percent of medical supplies are now depleted. The closure of crossings is also worsening the crisis for patients who require treatment outside the besieged enclave.
According to the ministry, at least 52 children have died due to malnutrition since the war began, with the number expected to rise amid ongoing restrictions on food aid entering the territory.
Hospitals are also facing severe shortages of oxygen and fuel necessary to operate power generators, putting critical medical services at risk of shutting down. The ministry said 16 out of 52 health centers are now completely out of service.
Additionally, direct targeting of ambulance crews is hindering the evacuation of the wounded, while the breakdown of water networks is contributing to the spread of skin diseases and gastrointestinal infections.
