Hamas calls Hungary's ICC withdrawal decision unethical, complicit
Hamas has strongly criticized Hungary’s decision to withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC), calling the move suspicious as it coincides with "Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Budapest.
In a statement, Hamas denounced Hungary’s withdrawal as an “unethical” decision that amounts to “clear complicity with a war criminal evading justice.” The group argued that the move violates international law and undermines the principles of humanitarian justice.

Netanyahu is currently facing potential ICC charges over alleged war crimes committed by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in Gaza.
Hamas also accused Hungary of contributing to a broader pattern of double standards in international justice, pointing to the role of Western governments, particularly the US, in shielding "Israel" from accountability. The group warned that such actions weaken the international judicial system and reinforce a culture of impunity, which it said poses a threat to global stability.
Calling for an immediate reversal of Hungary’s decision, Hamas urged the country to uphold its legal commitments. The movement also reiterated its demand for Netanyahu to be held accountable before the ICC for what it describes as war crimes against the Palestinian people.
