Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by far-right Israeli Occupation National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir on Wednesday, calling it a dangerous escalation and an unacceptable provocation.

Ministry spokesperson, Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Qudah, reaffirmed Jordan's absolute rejection of the incursion, describing it as a flagrant violation of international law and Israeli Occupation's obligations as an occupying power in Jerusalem. He warned against any attempts to alter the status quo of the holy site, emphasizing that 'Israel' has no sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.

Qudah accused the 'Israeli' government of escalating violations against religious sites in Jerusalem and the West Bank, expanding its aggression on Gaza Strip, and blocking humanitarian aid from entering the besieged strip. He warned that these actions could further destabilize the region.

He urged the international community to take a firm stance to compel 'Israel' to respect its obligations and cease its violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

Qudah reiterated that Al-Aqsa Mosque, covering 144 dunams, is an exclusive place of worship for Muslims, and that the Jordanian-administered Jerusalem Awqaf Department is the sole legal authority overseeing the site.
