'Israeli' prisons withhold Eid announcement from Palestinian detainees
The Prisoners' Affairs Commission revealed that Palestinian detainees in 'Israeli' prisons were unaware that Monday was the first day of Eid al-Fitr, as the prison administration withheld the information.
Detainees only learned about Eid after legal teams managed to visit them.
According to the commission and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club, over 9,500 Palestinians are imprisoned by 'Israel', including more than 350 children, 22 women, and 3,405 administrative detainees. Detainees face systematic abuses that have escalated amid the ongoing genocide, leading to the martyrdom of dozens.
The commission confirmed the identities of 63 detainees who died in 'Israeli' prisons, including 40 from Gaza. Many others remain forcibly disappeared. This comes as 'Israel’s' assault on Palestinians reaches unprecedented levels, with systematic crimes continuing against detainees.
The commission and the club also highlighted 'Israel’s' mass arrests, which have surged since the start of the aggression.
At least 15,700 Palestinians have been detained in the West Bank, excluding thousands from Gaza. Over 500 women and more than 1,200 children are among the detainees.
