Jordan condemns “Israel’s” approval of establishing “voluntary emigration” bureau
Jordan strongly condemned “Israel's” announcement to establish an agency targeting the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip under the guise of "voluntary departure."
The statement by the Foreign Ministry comes after the approval by “Israel's” Security Cabinet of the separation of 13 illegal settlement neighborhoods in the West Bank, paving the way for their "legalization" as colonial settlements.
In a statement, the ministry's official spokesperson, Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Al-Qudah, emphasized that all “Israeli” actions aimed at displacing Palestinians from their land are void and constitute a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian law.
He added that these practices amount to the crime of forced displacement and called on the international community to bear its legal and ethical responsibility to pressure “Israel” into halting its aggression against Gaza and its targeting of Palestinian presence in the West Bank.
Ambassador Al-Qudah reiterated that the Jordanian government utterly rejects all “Israeli” actions that violate UN resolutions and international law, particularly Security Council Resolution 2334, which condemns Israel's attempts to alter the demographic makeup of the occupied Palestinian territories since 1967, including East Jerusalem.
