Lebanese PM warns of border operations, urges UN pressure on 'Israel'
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has issued a strong warning regarding the ongoing military operations along Lebanon's southern border, expressing concerns over the risks of such actions potentially leading the country into a new war.
The Prime Minister emphasized the significant dangers these operations pose, urging the international community to take immediate action to prevent further escalation.
In addition to his warnings about the military activities, Salam reiterated Lebanon’s demand for increased international pressure on 'Israel'.
He called on the United Nations to intensify its efforts to compel 'Israel' to withdraw from the Lebanese territories it still occupies.
The Prime Minister's statements come amid rising tensions in the region, following Israel's interception of three rockets launched from Lebanon on Saturday, despite an ongoing ceasefire.
In response, 'Israeli' Defense Minister Israel Katz instructed the military to retaliate, blaming the Lebanese government for the attack. This has led to artillery shelling and rising concerns of further conflict in the region.
