Colder days ahead in Jordan with rain, strong winds

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), a cold air mass ahead of a low-pressure system will bring a noticeable drop in temperatures on Wednesday.

Daytime weather will be mild in most regions and warm in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with low clouds appearing.

Winds will gradually strengthen by noon, stirring dust, especially in desert areas.

By evening, cloud cover will increase, with rain beginning in the north before spreading to central regions and later reaching the south overnight.

Heavy rain, thunderstorms, and hail are possible in northern Jordan, accompanied by strong northwesterly winds, increasing the feeling of cold.

Temperatures will continue to decline on Thursday, falling slightly below seasonal averages. The weather will be cold and partly to mostly cloudy across most regions, with intermittent rain in northern, central, and some eastern areas.

Strong northwesterly winds, with gusts exceeding 65 km/h, may cause dust storms in eastern and southeastern Jordan, reducing visibility.

Friday’s weather will remain cold and partly to mostly cloudy, with a chance of light rain in northern and central areas during the morning.

Winds will be moderate from the northwest, occasionally becoming active and stirring dust in desert regions.
