The Houthi group in Yemen announced that 13 people were killed and nine others were injured in the latest US airstrike on the capital, Sanaa.

According to a statement from the group, the US attack targeted residential areas in Sanaa, resulting in civilian casualties.

Anis Al-Asbahi, a spokesperson for Yemen’s Ministry of Health, stated: "The number of casualties from the aggression has reached 13 martyrs and nine wounded, most of whom are civilians. This is a preliminary toll and may rise."

He added that "the American aggression on Yemen is a criminal escalation that will not break the will of the Yemeni people but will only strengthen their determination to support Gaza and the resistance."

Al-Asbahi condemned what he described as "an attack that targeted civilian and residential areas in eastern Sanaa today, marking a systematic criminal escalation, a blatant violation of all international laws and conventions, and a full-fledged war crime added to the record of the criminal axis of evil."

Trump's Statement

In a statement, US President Donald Trump said: "We will not tolerate any attacks on our interests or threats to our security, whether at sea or anywhere else."

Trump emphasized that continued Houthi attacks on American ships, aircraft, and drones had led the United States to take decisive action.

He criticized former US President Joe Biden’s response to these attacks, calling it "pathetically weak," which, according to Trump, allowed the Houthis to continue their reckless actions.

Trump further stated that the escalation had "choked shipping in one of the world's most critical waterways," causing widespread disruptions to global trade.

He reaffirmed that the US military would respond with "overwhelming lethal force" against the Houthis, targeting their bases, leaders, and defenses to safeguard American shipping and restore freedom of navigation.
