Hamas denounces 51 days of "Israeli" aggression on West Bank
A senior leader in Hamas, Abdul Rahman Shadid, condemned the ongoing "Israeli" aggression, marking the 51st consecutive day of the occupation’s violent assault on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp.
Shadid pointed out that "Israel" is continuing its criminal policies across all occupied Palestinian territories. According to him, the occupation has displaced over 20,000 residents from the Jenin refugee camp and arrested dozens, including many freed detainees.
He also highlighted the ongoing destruction in the Tulkarem refugee camp, where dozens of homes have been demolished.
The Israeli Occupation has also kept border crossings into the Gaza Strip closed and has cut electricity for the 10th consecutive day, exacerbating the humanitarian situation in Gaza. During Ramadan, Shadid noted a daily increase in the scale of "Israeli" incursions into Palestinian territories.
Additionally, he raised concerns over "Israel’s" expansion of settlement activities in the West Bank, its continuous house demolitions in Jerusalem and the West Bank, and its violations of international law.
He stressed that these actions were occurring alongside security coordination between the Palestinian Authority and the "Israeli" forces.
Shadid also emphasized that "Israel’s" siege on Gaza, preventing the entry of aid, constitutes a clear violation of ceasefire agreements and deepens the humanitarian crisis. He warned of the dangers of "Israeli" plans to forcibly displace the Palestinian people, describing these efforts as part of a broader strategy targeting the security of Arab nations.
"The occupation’s war on our holy sites and mosques is a clear expression of Zionist terrorism and a violation of all international norms," Shadid said. "We warn against "Israeli" efforts to legitimize the so-called Greater Jerusalem plan, and we call for pressure on Netanyahu’s government to adhere to ceasefire conditions."
Hamas called on international mediators to intensify their efforts to ensure a lasting ceasefire and begin negotiations for the second phase of the ceasefire agreement. They also urged the global community to take urgent action to hold "Israel" accountable for its crimes and violations.
The group further called for Palestinian unity, specifically urging the Palestinian Authority to stop its security coordination with Israel and pursue a more effective resistance against the occupation.
