Authorities warn citizens of unstable weather conditions in Jordan
The Public Security Directorate (PSD) has warned of upcoming unstable weather conditions expected to impact Jordan in the coming days, forecasting scattered showers that may be heavy at times, particularly in the eastern and southern regions.
Authorities urged citizens to follow safety precautions, emphasizing the importance of avoiding low-lying areas, staying away from valleys and flood-prone regions, and relocating to safer locations for those in mobile housing units, such as tents and temporary shelters, to prevent flood-related risks – the statement said.
The directorate also advised against driving on flooded roads, urged caution while driving to avoid skidding and traffic accidents, and stressed the safe use of heating devices. Residents were reminded not to leave heaters on while sleeping and to ensure proper ventilation to prevent accidents.
Additionally, authorities warned of reduced visibility due to dust, especially in the eastern and southern areas of the country, and urged the public to report any emergencies by calling the national emergency number, 911.
