Iraq announces date for upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad

Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein announced on Thursday the date of the upcoming Arab Summit, which is set to be held in the capital, Baghdad.

During the 12th preparatory meeting for the summit, Hussein stated that following discussions in Cairo, May 17, 2025, has been officially set as the date for the event.

The latest preparations for the summit were reviewed, along with discussions on reports submitted by specialized committees covering logistical, technical, and organizational arrangements. Detailed plans were also examined to ensure the success of the event, including protocol measures, security coordination, and media arrangements.

Hussein emphasized the significance of this summit, stating that Iraq is working to create all the necessary conditions to guarantee its success, reflecting a positive image of the country and strengthening the course of joint Arab efforts.

He also stressed the need for coordination among relevant authorities to ensure the summit is organized with the highest levels of professionalism and efficiency.
