Amendment to Labor Law: Termination in cases of retirement, disability, death

05-03-2025 16:29|On Wednesday, the Jordanian Parliament, by a majority vote, approved Article 5 of the amended Labor Law following extensive discussions and a series of interventions.
The article outlines the circumstances under which an employment contract may be terminated, including:
- Mutual agreement between the employer and employee to end the contract.
- The expiration of the contract or the completion of the work.
- The employee's death.
- The employee meeting the eligibility requirements for old-age retirement under the Social Security Law, unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties.
- The employee being medically declared unfit to work.
- The termination of the employee's services under the provisions of Article 31 of the law.
