Egypt rejects proposals that undermine Palestinian rights, principles
Egypt strongly rejected any proposals or ideas that go against its national and Arab principles regarding the Palestinian cause, reiterating on Wednesday that the only viable solution is the withdrawal of the "Israeli" Occupation from the Palestinian territories and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
A statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that circulating proposals about Gaza's future, including the idea of imposing Egyptian guardianship over Gaza, are considered "half-solutions" that do not contribute to a final settlement. Instead, they would lead to the renewal of the aggression.
The statement, which responded to media inquiries regarding governance proposals for Gaza, emphasized that any solution that bypasses the core issues of the Palestinian cause is entirely unacceptable.
It reiterated that Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem are inseparable parts of the future Palestinian state and must remain under full Palestinian sovereignty and administration.
This statement reflects Egypt's unwavering position on the Palestinian cause, with the government continuing to advocate for full Palestinian sovereignty and a fair resolution based on internationally recognized rights.
