Hamas issues statement on second phase of Gaza truce
Hamas spokesperson Abdel Latif Al-Qanou called for “Israel” to fully implement all provisions of the humanitarian protocol, emphasizing that Hamas is ready to proceed with all stages of the ceasefire agreement in line with its demands.
Al-Qanou accused “Israel” of using internationally banned weapons against Palestinians while simultaneously demanding the disarmament of the resistance.
He urged the formation of international committees to investigate “Israel’s” alleged use of prohibited weapons.
He reaffirmed Hamas’ commitment to the ceasefire agreement as long as “Israel” abides by it.
He also noted that negotiations for the second phase of the deal have not yet begun “in practice”, stating that Hamas is prepared to engage in talks according to the terms of the agreement.
Al-Qanou accused “Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of stalling the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire deal.
