"Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to issue a statement outlining "Israel’s" next steps after the conclusion of a key political and security cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

The meeting, which lasted four and a half hours, was convened early in the afternoon to address Hamas' recent threat to end the ongoing prisoner deal.

"Israeli" Minister Eli Cohen, a member of Netanyahu’s security cabinet, stated that "Israel" would align with US President Donald Trump’s stance on the captives deal.

“Either all captives and bodies are released by Saturday, or there will be consequences,” Cohen warned, accusing Hamas of violating the agreement and insisting "Israel" would not be blackmailed.

Trump had earlier threatened to call for an end to the Gaza ceasefire if the captives were not freed by midday Saturday.

Ahead of the security cabinet meeting, Netanyahu held consultations on the ceasefire and prisoner exchange, according to "Israel's" Channel 12.

Meanwhile, Hamas spokesperson Abu Obaida accused "Israel" of violating the deal by delaying the return of displaced Palestinians and blocking humanitarian aid. As a result, he announced that the planned hostage release on Saturday would be postponed until "Israel" fulfills its commitments.

With tensions rising, Netanyahu's potential statement could provide insight into "Israel’s" response strategy and its approach to the delicate negotiations.

Further details on the cabinet’s discussions remain undisclosed, but officials indicate that the government is weighing its options amid escalating regional pressures.
