The website of the English-speaking online newspaper “The Times of Israel” was hacked on Sunday, with the site’s entire contents being replaced by a black wallpaper and a message in English, seemingly written by a pro-Palestinian hacker group called “Dark Engine”.

“Do you really think you are safe in Palestine?” the message read.

“Or do you think they can protect you?” It added, in what appears to be a reference to the “Israeli” military.

“We are everywhere, but you cannot see us! There is more to talk about..#FreePalestine” the message continued.

Below it, a larger green-colored text reading “Allahu Akbar” in Arabic appeared, with an all black background.

The message stayed up for a few minutes before the website resumed its normal activity.

Afterwards, it got hacked again, with the same message, but with the (#DarkEngine) added.

“The Times of Israel”, launched in 2012, is a multi-language online newspaper and has become one of the largest newspapers in English and in Hebrew.

It was co-founded by “Israeli” journalist David Horovitz, who is also the founding editor, and American billionaire investor Seth Klarman.

It publishes in Hebrew, English, Arabic, French, and also Persian.
