Israeli Occupation withdraws from UN Human Rights Council

The Israeli Occupation has officially announced its withdrawal from the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in alignment with the US' recent decision to cease participation in the body.

This announcement came on Wednesday, with "Israeli" Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar expressing support for US President Donald Trump's stance.

“Israel welcomes President (Donald) Trump’s decision not to participate in the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC),” Sa'ar stated on social media platform X. He further emphasized, “Israel joins the United States and will not participate in the UNHRC.”

Trump's executive order, signed on Tuesday, not only called for the US withdrawal from the UNHRC but also included measures to halt funding to the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA).

This decision followed previous actions taken by former US President Joe Biden, who discontinued funding to UNRWA in January 2024 after "Israel" alleged that 12 of its employees were involved in the cross-border attacks on Oct. 7, 2023. The suspension of funding was set to last until March 2025.
