Trump to withdraw US from Human Rights Council, cut UNRWA aid

US President Donald Trump is set to sign an executive order on Tuesday that will formally withdraw the US from the UN Human Rights Council and halt financial contributions to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), according to a White House official.

The decision marks another step in Trump’s broader policy of distancing the US from international organizations. Since taking office on January 20, he has already pulled the country out of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Paris climate accord.
