In an official statement, Hamas described these comments as hostile to the Palestinian people and their cause, warning that such rhetoric would not promote stability in the region but instead escalate tensions and further complicate the situation.
The group reaffirmed that the Palestinian people and their resistance forces would never allow any nation to occupy their land or impose foreign control over them. Hamas also stressed that Trump's statements directly violate international laws that uphold the right of nations to self-determination.
Hamas called on the Trump administration to retract these "irresponsible" statements, asserting that they constitute a clear violation of Palestinian rights.
The group further emphasized the need for a strong and unified response from Arab, Islamic, and international actors to uphold Palestinian rights and support the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
