Smotrich threatens to bring down Netanyahu’s government
“Israeli” Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich continues his attacks on the Gaza ceasefire deal, calling it "catastrophic and dangerous to Israeli security," emphasizing that he will not allow the war to end without achieving its objectives.
In statements reported by the Jerusalem Post, Smotrich revealed that he remained in the government after being convinced by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump's commitment to removing Hamas as Gaza's ruling force.
However, he stated that “Israel” would return to the fight once the first phase of the deal concludes in early March.
Smotrich added, "If phase two of the deal ends the war without eliminating Hamas, I will work to bring down the government," noting that Tel Aviv should not yield to any pressure to halt the fight.
