New “ambulance motorcycle” introduced by Civil Defense in Jordan
The Public Security Directorate (PSD), through the Civil Defense Department, has launched the "Ambulance Motorcycle" service, aimed at reducing response times to accident sites, particularly in heavy traffic, and ensuring immediate intervention in emergencies. The initiative is part of PSD’s celebrations marking the birthday of His Majesty King Abdullah II.
The ambulance motorcycle is designed for rapid maneuvering in congested areas, allowing trained personnel to provide immediate first aid at the scene until an ambulance arrives. This enhances chances of saving lives and minimizing injury severity – a statement by the PSD said.
Each motorcycle is staffed by qualified male and female paramedics trained to handle various medical emergencies, including hypertension, diabetes-related complications, seizures, fainting, accident injuries, choking, electric shocks, poisoning, and burns. It is also equipped with a comprehensive first aid kit to ensure high-quality emergency care.
