At the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, held today, Wednesday, UN Secretary-General António Guterres addressed several key global issues.

Guterres discussed the economic growth potential in regions such as China and Russia, the challenges posed by artificial intelligence, and the involvement of leaders from countries ranging from Spain to Malaysia.

He emphasized the ongoing struggles in resolving global conflicts, stating, "We are still facing an uphill battle in resolving conflicts around the world." Guterres also highlighted "two profound threats: the climate crisis and the expansion of artificial intelligence."

A strong advocate for climate action, Guterres has faced challenges in his efforts due to US President Donald Trump’s push to expand fossil-fuel production, raising concerns about the future of climate policies.

The event brought together political, business, and thought leaders to tackle some of the world’s most urgent challenges. This year’s theme is "Collaboration for the Intelligent Age."
