Jordanian, US Foreign Ministers discuss Gaza ceasefire
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi held a phone call with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Sunday.
The two ministers reaffirmed the strategic Jordanian-American friendship and emphasized the importance of strengthening ties across various fields to enhance security, stability, and peace in the region.
They highlighted the significance of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and stressed the need for immediate and sufficient humanitarian aid to the area.
Safadi reiterated Jordan’s commitment to deepening cooperation with the US, particularly in advancing a just and comprehensive peace based on a two-state solution. He also acknowledged Blinken’s efforts as Secretary of State in strengthening Jordan-US relations.
Blinken, who steps down as Secretary of State with the new U.S. administration taking office tomorrow, praised Jordan’s role and King Abdullah II’s leadership in promoting regional security, stability, and peace.
