Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani expressed in an interview with Al Jazeera Qatar's firm rejection of the Israeli occupation's reckless actions in Syria's demilitarized zone.

He also reaffirmed that the sanctions imposed on the Assad regime were illogical in the current context, calling for a reassessment of these sanctions in light of recent developments.

Al Thani stated that Qatar is "as happy with the agreement as the people of Gaza" and expressed hope for its full implementation to end Gaza's humanitarian crisis.

He highlighted the crucial role of the final days of negotiations in reaching the agreement and emphasized the importance of US cooperation in securing the ceasefire.

Qatar, he added, is committed to fully implementing the first phase of the agreement, with the second phase being final.

He stressed the need for international support for Gaza and the establishment of mechanisms to aid affected families.

Regarding humanitarian aid, Al Thani noted that Qatar has introduced a protocol to ensure the smooth entry of assistance into Gaza, preventing its use as a tool for manipulation or pressure.

On Gaza's governance, he reiterated that post-aggression administration is a Palestinian matter, emphasizing the importance of Palestinian reconciliation to end internal divisions.

Responding to critics of Qatar’s mediation, he remarked, "Critics of Qatar have offered nothing to end the war except for shouting," denouncing what he described as political opportunism and blackmail against Qatar’s efforts.

He stressed that Qatar does not respond to blackmail with statements but rather with tangible actions that led to the agreement.
