'Israel' frees settlers, Katz says Jewish families should rejoice, not Palestinians

'Israel’s' Prison Service released several settlers held under administrative detention following a decision by Defense Minister Israel Katz on Friday morning.

Katz’s directive cancels administrative detention orders for settlers from the West Bank and allows their immediate release without considering extending their detention.

“In light of the expected release of Palestinian detainees in the West Bank as part of the prisoner exchange deal, I decided to release the settlers held in administrative detention,” Katz stated, emphasizing that this move reinforces and encourages settlement expansion. He added, “It’s better for Jewish settler families to rejoice than for Palestinian families celebrating the release of their prisoners.”

The decision faced criticism from 'Israel’s' internal security agency, Shin Bet, which voiced concerns over the implications of the immediate release of Jewish detainees.
