Jordan’s weather: Apparent temperatures to plummet this week
Jordan will experience the influence of the Siberian high-pressure system on Monday and Tuesday. While measured temperatures are expected to rise slightly above seasonal averages, apparent temperature (feels like) will drop due to brisk southeasterly winds. Nights and early mornings will be notably cold across the kingdom – per ArabiaWeather’s forecasts.
Rising measured temperatures, lower apparent temperatures
Despite the Siberian high’s impact, measured temperatures will increase slightly, hovering just above seasonal norms. However, brisk southeasterly winds will intensify the chill factor, significantly lowering apparent temperatures.
Daytime conditions on Monday and Tuesday will be relatively cold and clear across most regions, with increasing amounts of medium- and high-level clouds expected on Tuesday. Southeastern winds will be moderate to strong, particularly in southern highlands and parts of the Jordan Valley, enhancing the sensation of cold.
Warmer conditions in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba
The Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba will escape the cold, enjoying moderate temperatures in the 20s Celsius. Southern parts of the Jordan Valley may see highs nearing the mid-20s, offering spring-like conditions during the heart of winter. However, gusty winds may occasionally impact parts of these areas.
Warmer airflows briefly impact Jordan on Wednesday
On Wednesday, January 15, 2025, Jordan will be affected by a brief influx of warmer air, with temperatures rising 5-7°C above average. Highs will approach 20°C in most regions, including eastern Amman. Conditions will feel mild during the day, accompanied by scattered medium- and high-level clouds.
Cooler weather returns Thursday
Temperatures will drop again on Thursday, accompanied by stronger winds. Conditions will turn relatively cold nationwide, with scattered clouds at various altitudes. Localized rain showers are possible in northern parts of the country.
