Jordan prepares to supply Syria with electricity

Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Dr. Saleh Kharabsheh confirmed on Friday that Jordan is ready to supply Syria with part of its electricity needs.

Kharabsheh stated that, following a request from the Syrian side, Jordan is currently working on the necessary infrastructure to provide electricity to the Nassib Border Crossing.

He added that the electrical connection line within Jordanian territory is ready up to the Jordan-Syria border.

The minister emphasized that the start of electricity supply to Syria depends on the Syrian side’s readiness to receive the electricity.
