Police officer injured in standoff with wanted criminal in north Amman

The Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson said today that a Criminal Investigations Department officer sustained an injury in a raid in north Amman.

A dangerous wanted suspect with three outstanding warrants was apprehended by the department’s team in North Amman.

During the operation, the suspect resisted arrest and opened fire on the security forces. Officers responded and managed to subdue him, confiscating the firearm used in the exchange.

The operation resulted in one officer sustaining injuries. He was transported to a hospital, where his condition is reported as stable. The suspect was also injured during the standoff and remains under medical care.
