Copious rainfall in north Jordan, to extend across country on Sunday night
The Director General of the Jordan Meteorological Department, Raed Rafed Al-Khattab, reported that northern regions of Jordan, particularly the Governorate of Irbid, experienced significant rainfall during the early hours of Saturday morning.
Al-Khattab noted that the department's weather stations recorded promising precipitation levels as of 9 AM.
The Baqoura weather station registered the highest rainfall, with 40.5 mm, followed by Sama with 31.4 mm, and Irbid with 26 mm. Meanwhile, the Ramtha station recorded 10 mm, and Ras Munif in Ajloun Governorate reported 3.4 mm.
“These rains are promising, and we pray for their continuation,” Al-Khattab said.
He added that weather forecasts indicate that rainy conditions are expected to persist in the coming days. Rainfall is likely to expand to parts of central and southern Jordan starting Sunday night and into Monday, continuing through Tuesday evening.
