Four dead in helicopter crash in Turkey
A helicopter ambulance collided with a hospital building in southwest Turkey, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, Reuters reported.
The accident occurred while the helicopter was taking off from the Mugla Training and Research Hospital, according to a statement from the health ministry. Onboard were two pilots, a doctor, and a medical worker.
Idris Akbiyik, the regional governor of Mugla, informed reporters that the helicopter struck the fourth floor of the hospital before plunging to the ground.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported among those inside the hospital or on the ground below. Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the crash, which happened in the midst of heavy fog.
Footage from the scene revealed debris strewn across the area outside the hospital, with several ambulances and emergency response teams present to manage the aftermath of the incident.
