Jordan will experience a brief period of weather instability starting early Friday and continuing through late Friday night, accompanied by a drop in temperatures and chances of scattered rainfall, according to the latest forecasts from ArabiaWeather.

Clouds will gradually increase at varying altitudes on Thursday night into Friday morning, creating conditions for isolated rain showers that may include thunder, especially in the early hours of Friday.

Rainfall and affected areas

Areas most likely to see rainfall include Madaba, Karak, Tafileh, parts of the Dead Sea region, and scattered areas in Ma’an, with limited chances of rain in Aqaba and the border areas of Mafraq near Iraq. Amman is expected to have the highest chance of rain during the morning hours.

Rainfall may be accompanied by gusty winds, particularly in southern regions and mountainous areas, which could become stronger during thunderstorms. These winds are also likely to stir up dust in desert regions.

Weather instability

Meteorologists at ArabiaWeather emphasize a key trait of such weather instability: localized and uneven rainfall. For example, parts of eastern Amman might experience rain while western Amman remains dry or partly cloudy. This phenomenon is due to the patchy and vertically developed nature of the associated clouds.

Friday night outlook

The weather on Friday night will be cold and very humid, with lingering chances of rain in southern Jordan. High humidity levels may lead to fog formation in some areas.

Persistent weather pattern

ArabiaWeather reports that the usual atmospheric depressions, which bring widespread rain typical for this time of year, continue to be absent. Current weather models indicate no significant change in this pattern, reducing the likelihood of extensive rainfall in the near term.
