King meets Iraq PM

His Majesty King Abdullah II, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein, received today Iraq Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al Sudani to discuss current developments in the region.

During the meeting, the two leaders emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination between Jordan and Iraq to address regional challenges, prevent further instability, and avoid an escalation of conflict in the region.

His Majesty reiterated Jordan’s support for the Syrian people, stressing the need to respect their sovereignty and safeguard Syria’s security and its citizens.

The King also called for intensified international efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and to scale up humanitarian and medical aid to the region.

He warned of the dangers posed by ongoing acts of aggression by extremist settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank and violations targeting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

Regarding Lebanon, His Majesty urged action to ensure the success of ceasefire agreements.

The meeting reaffirmed the deep ties between Jordan and Iraq and the commitment to strengthening cooperation across various fields.

The discussions were attended by Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi, Chief of the Royal Court Eng. Alaa Batayneh, and General Intelligence Directorate Director Maj. Gen. Ahmad Husni.
