The Grand Criminal Court in Jordan sentenced a man to four years of hard labor for impersonating a government doctor and molesting two women accompanying their children at a public hospital.

The court found the defendant, who owns a tire repair and a car wash, guilty of committing indecent acts through deception, as outlined in Article 297 of the Penal Code, twice.

According to court records, the victims were mothers attending to their children in the neonatal ward of a public hospital when the defendant posed as a doctor and touched them inappropriately under false pretenses.

In one case, the defendant approached a mother while she was resting in the neonatal unit. Pretending to examine her infant, he touched her hand, claiming she had a fever, and held her wrist to check her pulse. He then told her he needed to examine her chest, but when she refused, he touched her without consent.

In another incident, the defendant approached a second mother and claimed he needed to check her pulse, insisting he was a doctor. When she asked him to examine her daughter instead, he repeated his claim and then left abruptly.

The victims reported the incidents to the hospital’s nursing staff, who informed them that no doctor was present during that time. A formal complaint was filed, leading to the defendant's arrest.
