Iran Foreign Minister delivers message to Syria’s Assad
Syrian President Bashar Assad, during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, reaffirmed Syria’s unwavering commitment, at all levels, to combating terrorist organizations with full force across its territory – per a statement by the Syrian Presidency.
Assad emphasized that confronting terrorism, dismantling its infrastructure, and cutting off its resources not only serves Syria but also promotes the stability, security, and safety of the entire region – the statement added.
Assad noted that the Syrian people have consistently stood resilient against terrorism in all its forms over the years and remain more determined than ever to eradicate it.
He highlighted the critical role of allies and friends in countering foreign-backed terrorist attacks and thwarting their plans.
Araghchi delivered a message from Iran’s leadership reiterating Tehran’s steadfast support for Syria in its fight against terrorism and its readiness to provide all forms of assistance to the Syrian government.
“He acknowledged that Syria had previously overcome far greater challenges and expressed confidence in its ability to prevail against terrorism and its backers. Araghchi also reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to Syria’s territorial integrity and stability,” the statement concluded.
