Trump appoints former WWE CEO as Education Secretary

US President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Linda McMahon, former WWE CEO and Small Business Administration head, as the next Secretary of Education.

McMahon has been a prominent advocate for parental rights and school choice. Trump praised her efforts to expand universal school choice, saying she will work “tirelessly” to provide quality education to all children regardless of income or location.

McMahon previously served in Trump’s first administration and leads the America First Policy Institute, a pro-Trump think tank. While Trump has proposed abolishing the Department of Education, congressional approval would be required for such a move.
