Jordanian, Qatari Prime Ministers discuss strengthening bilateral ties
Jordanian Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan met with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on Sunday in Amman to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and address regional developments.
The meeting highlighted the historic relationship between Jordan and Qatar, with both sides emphasizing the importance of enhancing cooperation based on the directives of King Abdullah II and Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The discussions focused on key areas such as economic partnerships, trade, investment, and infrastructure projects, including water, transport, and railways under Jordan's Economic Modernization Vision. The two leaders underscored the significance of regular high-level meetings, activating joint committees, and utilizing existing agreements.
On regional issues, the dialogue centered on intensifying international efforts to halt Israeli aggression in Gaza and Lebanon and ensuring the swift delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. The leaders also expressed their commitment to supporting UNRWA in maintaining essential services for Palestinian refugees.
Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi was present at the meeting, reinforcing the collaborative approach to regional stability and development.
