Expert: Undocumented Jordanian immigrants' fate hinges on US election results
Political science professor Dr. Bader Al-Madi commented on the future of undocumented immigrants in the US, including Jordanians, emphasizing that a Republican victory would complicate their situation.
In an interview with Roya, Madi said, "If the Democrats win, the impact on immigrants would be less severe in terms of their stance on immigration."
He added, "The position of the Republicans, represented by Donald Trump, would be more aggressive and harsher towards undocumented immigrants, which could lead to their deportation."
Madi also noted, "Jordanians are focusing on the US election results, particularly regarding the candidates’ positions on halting the wars in Gaza and Lebanon," pointing out that "the US stance from both candidates on the war is similar."
He concluded by explaining, "The relationship between the US and Jordan, in terms of annual economic aid, will not change based on the indicators and facts on the ground, regardless of whether the next president is Republican or Democratic."
