The “Israeli” Public Broadcasting Corporation (Kan) reported that the “Israeli” army is nearing the end of the first phase of its ground operation in southern Lebanon, a month after it began.
According to Kan, the operation has made significant progress, including uncovering Hezbollah infrastructure; it added that thousands of regular and reserve soldiers are expected to be discharged by the end of this week.
Previously, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) revealed that the total casualties among its soldiers and settlers during October had reached 88.
The “Israeli” Army Radio reported that of these, 65 were soldiers and security personnel, while 23 were settlers.
The report specified that the casualties occurred across various combat zones, due to rocket strikes, missile fire, and clashes on battlefronts. Meanwhile, the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth stated that 37 “Israeli” soldiers and officers had been killed in battles in southern Lebanon and along the northern border last month.
