Secret handwritten letters attributed to Yahya Sinwar published
Three handwritten letters from the Late Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar have been published by the Palestinian news outlet Al-Quds.
The letter by Sinwar, directed to the group fighters, detailed instructions regarding handling “Israeli” captives held in the Gaza Strip.
In the first –unverified– document, Sinwar urges Hamas fighters to prioritize the safety of “Israeli” captives, citing quranic verses and a saying by the Prophet Muhammad.
Sinwar emphasizes that safeguarding “Israeli” captives secures the safety of the Palestinian prisoners that Hamas seeks to free in a prisoner exchange deal – Sinwar refers to them as “bargaining chips”.
"The reward for freeing our captives is credited to the Mujahideen," Sinwar says in the letter – according to Al-Quds newspaper.
The second document provides statistics on the number of “Israeli” captives, detailing their ages and whether they are military personnel, civilians, or minors.
The third document includes a list of female prisoners, most of whom are older women, with details on their age, occupation, and their citizenship (if dual).
