In an interview with Roya from Doha, Nazzal stated that talks are being held through Egyptian and Qatari mediators with US involvement but noted no progress being made in this round of talks.
Nazzal said that Hamas has no desire to govern Gaza alone after the conflict, prioritizing Gaza's reconstruction through Palestinian consensus.
He denied what he said were Netanyahu’s false claims, in which he said that the obstacle to reach a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement was Hamas’ late leader Yahya Sinwar.
He affirmed that the movement remains committed to the terms set forth in the July 2 agreement.
He added that the “Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not seek a ceasefire agreement but is “stalling” until after the next US presidential election takes place.
Mohammad Nazzal, born in 1963 in Amman, has been a member of Hamas since 1989 and a member of its Politburo since 1996.
