Herzi Halevi, the Chief of the General Staff of the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF), said Monday that yesterday’s strike by Hezbollah on a military training base near Haifa that killed at least four soldiers so far was “difficult and painful”.

"We are at war, and an attack on a training base on the home front is difficult and the results are painful," Halevi told soldiers during a visit to the Golani Brigade training base that was hit Sunday night in the area of Binyamina, south of the city of Haifa.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah has issued a statement following the deadly attack, which left around 67 soldiers injured.

Hezbollah said the attack was part of the “Khaybar” series of operations in response to “Israeli” aggressions on Beirut and Lebanon.

It said it launched a “swarm of kamikaze drones targeting a training camp of the Golani Brigade in Binyamina, south of Haifa,” adding that the attack came under the call of their slain leader Hassan Nasrallah.
