Hezbollah issues statement following deadliest attack yet on “Israeli” military base

Lebanon’s Hezbollah has issued a statement following the deadly drone attack on an “Israeli” military base south of Haifa, which left over 67 soldiers injured according to an initial toll.

Hezbollah said the attack was part of the “Khaybar” series of operations in response to “Israeli” aggressions on Beirut and Lebanon.

It said it launched a “swarm of kamikaze drones targeting a training camp of the Golani Brigade in Binyamina, south of Haifa,” adding that the attack came under the call of their slain leader Hassan Nasrallah.

Hebrew media reported that the attack resulted in at least 67 injuries.

The attack targeted Binyamina in central “Israel”. Medics are currently treating the injured at the scene, with many “seriously hurt”.

Two drones were launched towards central “Israel” – with air defenses intercepting one over the sea, with the second impacting, per Channel 12.

According to “Israeli” Army Radio, the explosion killed 3 soldiers and left 24 others injured at least, 9 of whom are in critical condition.

No alarms were triggered when the drone breached “Israeli” airspace. The “Israeli” military and Home Front Command said it will investigate the failure to activate the warning system.

The drone was reportedly launched toward Haifa under the cover of a barrage of rockets aimed at the Galilee.

Videos showed ambulances evacuating wounded and deceased soldiers from the scene.

“Israeli” journalist Amit Segal confirmed that the attack targeted a base belonging to the Golani Brigade, one of the “Israeli” military's prominent units.
